Not to be a gloomer but I guess I am a watcher. TD 9 could become Isacc and might head due west they say. one report had TS Helene right off Africa where Irma was born heading North. hope so, but im leary of any of those in the cape verde area.

I will worry about them after hurricane Florence, which still is heading for the east cost of the US.

Helene looks to be a fish storm to me. TD 9 looks to be much more problematic for somewhere in the islands. As candj said, Florence looks to be bad new for the US.

candj hope you're located far away from projected hit of Florence. We worry about a daughter who just moved there. And we worry Florence might hit further up the East coast.

At 500 AM AST (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Isaac was located near latitude 14.5 North, longitude 38.1 West. Isaac is moving toward the west near 9 mph (15 km/h). A westward motion with an increase in forward speed is expected during the next few days.

Maximum sustained winds remain near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts. Strengthening is forecast during the next few days, and Isaac is expected to become a hurricane by Monday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 60 miles (95 km) from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1001 mb (29.56 inches).
