After many years of chartering and vacationing in the BVI by charter boat, I'm trying to plan a 11 day land based trip for March of 2019. It's just 2 of us this year and I'm the only sailor. Although I'll miss the anchorages and all the ilons, I can certainly "make do" with just staying on 1 or 2 of them.
My initial thoughts are to split time between Anegada (maybe one of the villas at Big Bamboo) and Leverick Bay. I'm trying to work out logistics of where to stay and how to travel between them.
Any advice is welcome. Right now, I have flights booked in and out of SJU, but nothing further.

If Virgin Gorda is a must I also recommend Guavaberry Spring Bay. Can have the best snorkeling beach and the baths off hours all to yourself, close to spanish town ( although may not be a plus till more rebuild is done) . Just a thought.

We started going to the BVI in 1989. We bareboat chartered for many, many years. One year, while visiting the Baths on Virgin Gorda, we went to the now sadly gone Mad Dog bar and grill for a drink and a visit with Edith. We lucked into a meeting with Ludwig, who, along with his wife Tina, owned Guavaberry Spring Bay. He urged us to have Tina give us a guided tour of the cottages and the grounds, and we did so. The next year we spent four days there after our charter. The next year we spent a week on a sail boat and a week at Guavaberry. Now we spend three weeks in May there. Beautiful beaches, no crowds, a short walk to the Baths, commissary with food and beverages. Nearby restaurants and grocery stores. The one, two, and three bedroom cottages are arranged so that you have privacy. The staff are some of the nicest people you will ever meet and are all our friends now. If this sounds like I'm gushing, I am...lol. And I am so ready for May to get here so that I'm back on the porch with a drink in hand watching the lovely sunset over Sir Francis Drake channel. They have a web page with photo's, info, and a great map of VG. And, whatever choice you make, as long as you are in the BVI you will have a great time. Enjoy!!!

If you opt for Anegada I recommend either D&H Sunshine Villas on the west side or Ann's Cottages at Cow Wreck Beach. I have never stayed at Big Bamboo. But the cottages look fine and the location is good. Enjoy your trip!

Anne's cottages look interesting. I understand they'll be posting photos when they are completed in November. In the meantime, I'm enjoying the descriptions.
Is anyone familiar with water taxi services that can take us to and from VG and Anegada?
Thanks for the advice so far.

Elaine with Bradley Powerboats at Leverick Bay can help you with getting to Anegada.

By March 2019, the Anegada Express should be running again. They depart everyday from Trellis Bay and take you directly to Anegada. On the return, the boat stops at VG and then continues to Trellis.

I've used the boat a few times and highly recommend it.

Morning Jason. Why is Anegada Express down again? More government issues?

I don't know first hand, but I have heard the boat was in for repairs. Not sure if it was maintenance or an unplanned repair.

You could also try bayview apartments near the ferry dock in VG - we stayed there several times and it's clean and comfortable.

Thanks for the recommendations. Anyone have any experience with the Anegada Beach Club?

It is our go-to place on Anegada now. Best beach on the island in our opinion. Before Irma, they would even pick us up at a bar near the anchorage and take us there.

They have a complimentary shuttle that will pick you up at The Lobster Trap.
