Good afternoon all,
Just checked AA for travel out of DTW thru CLT for Late November/early December, and prices are down over $200 from where they have been. Nice flights too...on the island by 2:30, and back home with no overnight. No matter where you're departing, if you typically connect thru CLT, you might want to check.

Just another example of the crazy stupid airline industry. I've been following Charlotte direct to SXM for a few weeks, and all of a sudden tonight, when I'm about to book, our fares are UP $300 per ticket to $800 since LAST WEEK!

Guess us CLT boarders are paying for you Yankees! smile

That's what anyone would expect but it sometimes doesn't apply to airlines. I checked out end of March through mid April CLT-SXM flights (all N/S) ...fares are north of $800 BUT, except for a few Sunday R/T's the Friday and Saturday departures are nearly empty with a couple having less than 10 on board.(one with five)

I would think these prices won't hold. The January N/S are nearly full and go for right around the same price (a tad more) . Also...it is $150-200 cheaper to fly with a connection (PVD-CLT-SXM) in CLT to SXM than just from CLT to SXM...so common sense really doesn't apply to airlines

Big deal. Drop in the bucket considering the over all cost of a vacation.

If it does not fit in a carry-on, you won't need it.

No if you were ticketed before the change goes in.

No, per the policy in the link provided:
"Checked bag fees have changed for flights within the U.S. or to / from Canada, Caribbean, Central America, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Virgin Islands for tickets issued on / after September 21, 2018"

Therefor my ticket purchased in August will be at the $25 for 1st bag rate.
