So does this latest proposal show that regardless of how bad we might currently find air travel to be, they can always find a way to make it worse if they try?

Respectfully,

I agree I have left AA because they could care less about passengers ( a 30 year customer ) I found Jet Blue to be a very caring airline hope that doesn’t change .

It all has to do with the bottom line. If they can figure out a way to eek a dime out of us they will.

I’m more interested in Mint than I am in Less Frills.

very disappointed reading this. At one time, JB was the best airline flying. They were competitive in price, exceed most for comfort....offered free two bags checked, etc. Then they followed the others with smaller seating, less comfort, baggage fees, and the ''i don't care'' attitude of their staff. Now, with some of these even less frill flights, they will be joining the likes of Spirit, and some of the other ''cut rate minimum quality airlines". Sad to see such a once great airline going down the chutes.

Next it will be last boarding will have to check carry-on if no overhead space available. And if that's the case then they better stare adhering to the measurement they post on their website.

JetBlue is following the lead of larger rivals by offering a stripped-down ticket with fewer options than regular economy fares.

I don't get it so maybe I am, again, missing the point. Minimal details in that short PR but it seems that it will be an additional option to get a low price no frills fare... NOT a whole plane concept. SOOOO...if you want no frills it;s there..if not then it's a non-event.

We always go for the extra room/priority boarding seats so definitely not an issue with us and most definitely not a reason to bad mouth an airline for offering a cheaper option for those who want it.

Exactly. No reason to get your panties in a knot over this. Just another option for a lower price.

Or will they make their current lowest level have even lower "frills" and then start calling their current levels by another name and increase the costs? Travel is not the same as it used to be. For the airlines to start charging additional fees for things such as picking your seat assignment is ludicrous. Imagine if you booked a cruise for you and your spouse but you had to now pay an additional fee to make sure you were both in the same stateroom!

If I book 2 seats on a plane I would expect to sit next to my travelling companion.

Since it is all speculation right now i can't complain about what is not defined...and..I have never had an issue being able to sit next to my flying companion. I don't fly airlines with that as an common practice.

I WILL fly SWA if the price/route is right but I pay for early boarding so I guess that's the same as paying to sit together.

We did that once and ended up in C when I asked about it the answer I got was: I guess everyone paid the extra and that's where you landed accordantly to your booking. We never [aid for it agin. I wish they still did First Come First then I'd decide whether how early I wanted to arrive to be in the first 10 group.
