And if I’m thinking of the same fish, they are are HUGE. We used to watch them off the deck at Boca Marina and I think it was Lee’s, too, where they used to feed them. The fish would come right up, almost to the edge of the dock to get whatever food it was the staff was throwing in the water for them. Again, they were really big fish maybe three to four feet on average, or at least that’s what they looked like to me. We always heard they were a fun catch but best to catch and release, and because of their bony nature they really weren’t a great dinner catch.

Yup..a table by the water at Lee's...leftover french fries tossed in and these beasts would swarm and churn the water. Also on the SB bridge next to the Yacht Club restaurant at night the lights draw them in and they ARE huge....No more Lee's but we still have the bridge I've seen locals fishing off the rocks near the bridge but can't say I've seen them catch anything
