Tallahassee looks to be pretty much in the eye of the storm, as it is coming ashore, so I figure the students will have to be evacuated. Eric's brother lives in Tallahassee and we expect that he will be out of electric, possibly for quite some time.

Tallahassee is a bit inland and they are staying in place, although I do expect that they will lose power for sure. No water close to them.

SXM students in an exchange program having to evacuate from yet another hurricane... how much can your mental state of mind take? The big difference is Florida residents can evacuate! On SXM there is no where to go! I am 80% rebuilt from Irma but my septic system is being replaced so no trips for me till I can flush my toilet. It has taken a toll on me... stress and fatigue during this hurricane season. Prayers to all those in Florida and in the path of Hurricane Michael. We live in the Panhandle (Pensacola) and we were fortunate that the hurricane went far enough east of us that we were spared. No regrets that I spent yesterday preparing for a storm that didn't come here. I've been through several hurricanes and my prayers go out to those not so lucky!
