DAY 2
I woke up well rested @ 6am in Skyway Villa. We had our first timer friends take the master suite, but our room and all the rooms in both villas were beautiful, large, quiet and air conditioned.
This was our room.

I let my wife continue to snooze while I proceeded to the great room to make some coffee. It had rained overnight and that wonderful fresh smell of the islands was in the air. Our friends brought their French press so I gave it a try, not as good as a percolator on a boat, but NICE coffee! With coffee in hand I returned to our room for a shower, what a shower!!

I was pleasantly surprised to see both families awake by 8am, I think everyone was excited for their first beach day to start. We went all out on breakfast this morning, eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, fruit etc. etc. The kitchen at Skyway was great to cook in.

The families from Starstruck Villa met us in our driveway @ 10am and we caravanned down Centerline Road, through Cruz Bay and out North Shore Road stopping at a couple scenic overlooks.

Our beach for the day would be Cinnamon Bay. This is a good beach to start with because the campground has good bath houses, restaurant and a small store incase we really needed something.

We found a great spot to set up camp for our platoon. My wife laughed and said that we are the large, loud group that we usually try to avoid
I think there are 5 missing in this photo

Provisioning for the day was easy. Each villa was responsible for preparing lunches for their families and stocking a cooler with their preferred drinks. I should mention that prior to the trip we collected $20 a week from each family. This money would be used for our private day charter to the BVI’s on Bad Kitty and to cover 5 nice dinners at the villas. All said and done, we would only add an additional $20 per family to accomplish this My wife gets credit for calculating that, good job!
Back to the beach…Cinnamon Bay was beautiful this day. A little overcast, but calm waves lapping at the beach, nice breeze and 2 coolers overflowing with Presidente’s By the way we had designated drivers for each vehicle!
While swimming I met a local guy we nicknamed “Cosmos” He’s an interesting and very nice man who has lived on a small sailboat on St John since 1983. We discussed our individual roles in the universe, us being just a small part of a much larger Universal Being. I never did receive total consciousness, but I did drink 2 Presidente’s while talking with him, which is nice!
Here's "Cosmos" helping my daughter catch a gecko.

A couple of us walked through the campground and I showed them where I drank from a trash can back in the day

What a terrific day at the beach! Around 5pm we headed back to Skyway to clean up and prepare dinner for 16 hungry folks. Each family chose a night to plan a meal and prepare everything for the rest of us, actually both families in whichever villa helped with prep and clean up. This system worked out well for us! We enjoyed very tasty beef and cheese enchiladas with all the trimmings.

This night would end with a short glass of Knob Creek on the rocks watching the kids silhouettes bounce joyfully in the pools blue glow. With only the pool light on, I found myself mesmerized at the star filled night. I envisioned myself rising above this rotating ball we call Earth with thoughts of Universal Consciousness, DAAANG no more bourbon for me
