Been busy and finally back to blog. Sand gravity has taken effect. Monday was a cloudny day as Leslie remained out at sea but hovered over us here on the island. Traveled to Mullet Bay but the waves were high and winds too. Returned to the condo to stay poolside. We returned to Macho Taco at lunch and had fish burrito and shrimp areta. Both were great. In the afternoon there was a beachside wedding here of our new friends that we took on our own island tour the day before. We were asked to take photos and to be their witness to thier day which also was our day as it was our 17th wedding anniversary. They mentioned that they wanted to dine out at a nice place so we asked them to join us at La Villa for dinner in Grand Case. Christophe was back from vacation and welcomed us and our new friends with glasses of champange to celebrate. Our meal was great. Florence had arranged for the chef to prepare for us an appetizer that was not on the menu which was scallop carpicco surrounding mahi tartare. This dish alone was worth the visit. The other two appetizers were escargots and light lobster ravolis. Our entrees were Chilean Sea Bass, The seafood combo of lobster, shrimp and scallops, Rack of lamb encrusted with goat cheese and the mahi mahi with mussels all great choices. We had desserts all around, the pick me up (great coffee selection with ice cream) and tiramisu, peach tartine, and chocolate profiteroles and finished once again with the bottles of Rum on the table for many shots. We also consumed two bottles of wine. Dinner was $160 per couple which included additional tip for service. Great Evening for us all.
Tuesday Leslie still bringing clouds and waves but getting better so we again resided to poolside for the day. Cleaned out the refrige for lunch today and wife not feeling to well so dinner was a seek and find night. We found ourselves at the BBB and I had a great burger and calamari appetizer while my wife ordered a cheese pizza only tomake it through one slice. The waitress knowing my wife was not feeling well served her first Ginger Beer soft drink to calm her stomach and later thoughtfully returned with an island remedy of warm steeped ginger and garlic. My wife drank it and although did not like the flavor awoke the following day feeling much better. We also did a quick stop to the Hollywood casino coming out slightly ahead.
Wednesday the weather was much better and so was my wife. We headed into Marigot to the markets with our new friends and stoped for them to buy some items. We them made the 10:00 ferry to Pinel island and the waters were calm. Yellow Beach is the only beach bar open and actually charges $20 per 2 chairs. Really miss Up on the Key. We visited Tom at his lovely little shop there on Pinel and made some purchases. You really should see all the sugar birds there that he has come to feed. Our friends enjoyed a walk on the trail around the island and came upon a naked couple on the other side. We left Pinel to have a less expensive lunch in Grand Case at the lolo's that they never experienced. As the front two are closed we at ate the Rib Shack in the back. Whole snapper and ribs and chicken platters were all good at a cost around $10 per head including drinks. We also stopped in at Ma Du Du for some Rum to take back home and had some free samples of thier many flavors. Notice the signage said they were only open in Sept. and Oct. 8 am to 12 noon but we arrived at 1:30 and they welcomed us. We passed Ti Bouchon and saw Momo and stopped to chat with him....he was painting and getting his restaurant cleaned up for a reopening in two weeks. He was upset as his refrigerators were off and he could not offer us a drink.....that was so sweet. He mentioned that if any of our friends were to come there to mention that they knew us as the people that stopped to see him when he was painting and he would remember that and give them a complimentary drink....we actually got out of there in less than twenty minutes as Momo is a talker, but very kind. At night we went to Bamboo Bernies and took advantage of their 5-7 happy hour food and beverages. It was a variety of small plates and discounted drinks, all good. Came out to $60 per couple including tip. We ended the evening going to Glo for gelati which our new friends have never had. It was great as we have been there three times so far in two weeks here. We then broke even at the Casino Royale as we received free slot play for signing them up as new members. Thats all for now, we were home early to watch Football season <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Kiss.gif" alt="" />begin!
