Awoke early to a beautiful rainbow which lead to a mostly cloudy day. Low humidity made for a nice day but when the sun was out it was extremely strong. Spent the morning doing the usual shopping at the market in Marigot. Seems to be a few more vendors selling the same stuff we don't need.
Chilled out at R.I.La Plage pool while enjoying reheated lolo food for lunch.
Staying close by for dinner and taking the advice of others on ttol, we visited Satara thai restaurant in Simpson bay. We weather was perfect with a slightbreeze, low humidity, and a nearly full moon in the sky. They have done a great job on the outdoor dinning area, you don't realize how close you are to the street until the cycles roar by. We shared three appetizers, chicken satay, shrimp and cheese wontons, and crispy porks with a spicy chili sauce. All were very good. Entrees included seafood pad thai, and cashew chicken. Portions were good but were not as tasty as the starters. With two beers and a delicious mango colado, bill was $98 including tip. Service was very friendly. I'd hate to see the wait for service when the place gets busy since the kitchen is inside and it seems there is no computer system. Our service was fine on a slower night.
The carasoeul gelato is now closed for vacation so we revisited the new gelato place (Gio's) in Maho. They were doing a good business and found prices resonable.
Somhow missed to review our dinner at Barnacles in Simpson bay. Good greek food at resonable prices. Kali (chef-owner with husband and also Pa. natives) was extremely friendly. Enjoyed fried cheese, simple but excellent, wished I had ordered two. Fried calamari and thypoon shrimp (similiar to buffalo style) completed our starters. Shared a lamb gyro for dinner. With four frozen mojitos and tip got out at $75. Someimes we can't eat french everynight.
Rehit the Taste Factory for breakfast pastries ( 8 for $6 )
and buy two get one free dessert. I'm still missing Suciere. Suciere has nice new signage and I'm sure we'll be visiting the ladies soon.
