Wednesday, July 24nd -- Our Fourth day on the island:
Today was much like the previous days. I got up early made coffee, and watched the sun come up, as well as the early morning beach strollers. There doesn’t seem to be as many of them this trip. I sure the seaweed situation and the fact that it’s been pretty quiet on the beach so far this trip has a lot to do with it.
Our new-found chair mates, Mark, and Lisa, from Texas had to leave the island today to return home. They were really fun people to be around, and we wish them safe travels, and hope to meet them again someday.
It appears to me anyway, that maybe the seaweed situation is starting to improve. There didn’t appear to be as much of it washing ashore this morning, and we could walk much further on the packed sand, than in previous days. One can only hope...
After our early morning trek down to Club O, we settled in for the for the day, and enjoyed the sights that are Orient Bay.
I brought my snorkeling gear with me today, and snorkeled of the beach a few times. Last year the snorkeling was pretty good, as far seeing things went, this year it was just so so. I used a small point and shoot digital camera, and a waterproof pouch called a DicaPac and took some photos.

After we got back “home” and cleaned up and had a bit of dinner, we walked around Mont Vernon, and took some pictures. I was glad to see that the little pizza place was opened up again, as Diana and I really like their pizzas, and we are looking forward to having it again soon.
When we got back to the studio, we discovered that the satellite tv was not working, so I emailed Amaury, and informed, him -- haven’t heard back from him yet. So we fired up the Xoom, and watched a movie on on Crakel.com
Around 11:00 p.m. we got a somewhat disturbing message from our son in law back home who has been taking care of our pool, while we are away. It appears that someone vandalized our house yesterday. They apparently went on our deck and threw everything on the deck, into the pool. Toys, floats, chairs, umbrellas, tables, containers of towels, etc.
At least there was no permanent damage, but it was a mess. Jason, my son in law cleaned it up and called the police. Thanks, Jason, we really appreciate it. I know it was probably just some neighborhood kids, but really, why do they have to do things like that??
More to come....
