Day 2 - Monday, July 23nd -- Our second day on the island:

Once again I up before dawn and out on the balcony listening to the sounds of the waves crashing on the beach. Somehow I’m drawn to the sea, sometimes I think I should have been a sailor, or perhaps I was in a prior lifetime -- If there is such a thing.

This morning managed to get the coffee made and out on the balcony without incident, and I enjoy it as I browse TTOL and Facebook. I make a few post to friends and family back home, and in general just wait for the sun to rise. Today, is a beautiful day, and I just know that the sunrise will be spectacular. So I go in and get my DSLR camera, and take it out so that it can acclimate to the temperature and humidity, and be ready for action as the sun slowly crawls above the horizon.

After about an hour or so, the the camera is ready, I’m ready, and the sun cooperates and nature rewards me with beautiful sunrise, as I fire off some frames. I think some of the turned out well.

The rest of the day was pretty much a repeat of yesterday. The trek to Pedro’s, getting our chairs and being one of the first people to be there. Diana, and I wade out into the surf to refresh from the walk, and as the water and wind cools our bodies, we begin once again to feel the effects of being deep in the “Sand Gravity” well.

Once again we enjoyed drinks at the perch, shared our experiences with our new found friends on the beach, and just whiled away the day. Again before we knew it the day was over, and we trekked back to our studio.

After dinner we went walking around Mont Vernon and explored it a bit. We wonder it it must have been like in its’ heyday. I bet it was really a top notch resort. The pool that was being worked on last year, is finished and it is nice.

We went down to the little pizza place on the grounds, where we have enjoyed their pies in the past, only to find it closed. I do hope it will be open sometime during our trip.

Well, by now it’s dark, so we return to studio to settle in for the evening, and so ends our second full day on the island.
