Had to meet Ernest at 10am in front of Flamingo. Went by the Peli Deli and got some batteries for the camera and a couple of danishes. That and a banana was breakfast.
Followed Ernest through light traffic to the Dawn Beach Westin. Went through the entire 90 minute presentation and tour, didn't buy. Got a $100 voucher for the Tango Caribbean Dinner Cruise. Spent the rest of the afternoon in the glory of Dawn Beach. Maybe the prettiest beach I've seen so far on the island. Views of St. Barts and Saba in the distance, beautiful white sand, coral reefs right off the shore surrounded by mountains and the multi-colored villas up above. Perfect day, low humidity, nearly cloudless, breezy, just awesome!
Spent some time listening to my daughter's band's new CD on the iphone in paradise- life couldn't get any better! Rocked out on some Deep Purple Made in Japan, walked the beach taking pictures and did a little snorkeling. A wonderful 3 hours, heaven on earth!
Left for Flamingo at 3 o'clock to catch the Lambada Sunset Booze Cruise. Hadn't eaten since breakfast and headed straight to Topper by the Sea. I had the beef brisket sandwich, very good with very generous portions. We can't remember what Lynn had, but with a large bottle of water the tab came to $29.20.
Didn't have time to shower after making reservations for the Sunset Dinner Cruise, went back for Lynn, who did get a shower and headed for the Marina. Got there and realized I had forgotten the camera! Hustled back to the studio, got the camera and headed back to the Marina. On the way back, one of the workers at Aqua Marina's office at Pelican said, "you might be too late!", which spurred me to run the rest of the way back. We were the last 2 on the boat and I was soaked with sweat. But once we got moving and the rhum started flowing all was very good.
Took pictures all the while, we went all the way around Long Bay and got a glimpse of Bay Rouge. Bummer about the natural hole collapsing, glad we got to see it before it's demise. The catamaran was a big time party with lots of great fun loving people, dancing, island music, beautiful scenery, great breeze, and helluva time! Our 3rd time on the cruise, a must-do for us, at $15 per person maybe the best deal on the island if you stay at Pelican or Flamingo.
Back to 7106, hung out on the balcony watching the Dodgers-Philly game through the sliding glass door while checking out the action at Toppers by the Sea, listening to the languid laps of liquid Caribbean caressing the beach. Ah, multi-tasking in St. Maarten! A very friendly cat came by and inspected our planter. Can't wait for Tuesday and Orient Beach! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" />
