So...yes, $45/day for a compact car...as mentioned above
Good move on the decline

We booked 8 months ago from a major rental brand we all know for $20 a day for an economy. Got a call offering a special upgrade offer to a compact car for just $25 more per day.
One thing to bear in mind, what is considered "economy" and "compact" here in the US may be drastically different than on the island. Many of the rentals are models not made for sale in the US. While they are similar, they are not the same as what we know and many amenities/options are different on non-existent. More than doubling the price does not sound like a good deal at all.

Cheap/inexpensive usually sells out first. You may get an "upgrade" without asking or paying more.

Cheap/inexpensive usually sells out first. You may get an "upgrade" without asking or paying more. Or show up for your original car and there is nothing for you. I have heard of that happening with some rental companies.
