Good afternoon all, we have chartered in the BVI 3 times and are looking at perhaps going out of St. Martin. I searched back through old trip reports, but was looking for information regarding costs. In general... are the grocery, alcohol and cruising taxes about the same as the BVI? Do I understand it's mostly anchoring rather than mooring balls or docks? I really appreciate any/all information!

Geno--sorry, they are talking about doing a bareboat charter.
To the original poster, food and booze are cheaper on SXM than the BVI, yes. I'm not a sailor, so can't really answer the sailing questions. I think there are a couple of trip reports here, if you do a search though.
