Hi- My wife and I will be staying in a condo in Orient Village for 10 days starting at the end of January. We have stayed in the Village a number of times in the past, but not since Irma. We're planning to taxi from the airport with a stop on the way to pick up groceries. Other than a couple of day trips - Pinel, maybe Phillipsburg- for which we plan to take cabs, we plan to spend our time on or near the beach.
I'm wondering if anyone can recommend, either for selection or convenience, a grocery store on the way from the airport to Orient Village for our basic supplies and if in Orient Village there is a shop open and selling groceries.
I'd appreciate any recommendations.

Petite Casino is open in Orient Village, yes. For selection (so long as you don't require US products) the best prices and selection are at Super U in Marigot.

Super U in Marigot and Carrefour near Philipsburg are two good places to shop for groceries depending on which route you take to Orient. As Carol mentioned Petite Casino in Orient Village is open and has a vast range of products. Enjoy your stay! 😊

I notice this is your 1st post, so welcome. I'd imagine the cab will take the causeway and through Marigot, passing Super U, which is where I suggest stopping.

I'm going where the weather suits my clothes.

My wife and I stayed in Orient a few months ago. We shopped at Leader-Price after we got there. Everything in French. Brand new store with plenty of items. We even found a loaf of bread that had no crust. Didn't know they made anything like that. Prices were a bit high. The day before we left, Petite Casino had just opened. It is much larger that it used to be and the prices didn't seem outrageous. We will be back again in April and plan to go there for some of our supplies. Check it out when you get there.
