This question is addressed to those who have stayed at the Tamarijn in Aruiba in the last year or so. What kind of lounges do they have on the beach? If they are the kind that have webbing across the bottom, is the webbing wide enough that your bum doesn't sink in between rungs? The reason I am asking is that we are booked at the Tamarijn in February, and I am wondering whether we should bring our lounge mats to ensure we do not sink in between the straps.

Try contacting the hotel for the current type of lounges. Sometimes they change them for the new season.
