We're booked on this flight in May. Has anyone flown this route yet? Feedback welcome!

I'm actually not certain it is flying yet. As I recall, I thought it was to start sometime in February and today is February 1.

It looks like perhaps the first flight is tomorrow. There are a few flights till then, but looks like every day, starting February 14.

Nonstop flights start on February 14. Anything before then is probably a connecting flight. Some connecting flight itineraries will send you to San Juan, connecting to SXM on Seaborne, or even overnight via JFK.

What do you mean by ''established route" ....it has been offerred by Jet Blue since last October or so...and rumored to be coming for at least two years now. I am quite certain it should be a great moneymaker for JB and the island. FLL is such a much cleaner, brighter, and less busy airport than Miami. Also, for us Floridians....it is much more ''parking'' friendly too.

Ed, I'll be driving over from Sarasota in June, looking forward to your report on the flight. I'm planning on staying overnight the evening before my flight so I can park at the hotel.

Where do you park for FLL? We recently moved to the area and have been using Uber to the airport and port.

I booked that flight for April 16 from FLL round trip for $230; and I am parking at "Self Park FLL" , 901 Old Griffin Road, Dania Beach, FL 33004; eight days for $71 with a $5 off coupon. Last year I flew Jet Blue out of Miami. I parked at a friends house last year and Uber out of the airport on my return was not pleasant as it was mass confusion with all the people trying to leave the airport also trying to use Uber. I am just going to drive to the airport that morning from New Smyrna Beach, FL.

Where do you park for FLL? We recently moved to the area and have been using Uber to the airport and port. We always park at ''Park N Go". It is right outside the airport. Usually around 70 bucks for a week for parking. They will load and unload the luggage...and quickly get you to the gate. Same on the return. We have used them for at least five years. It is also a secure, and fenced lot...24 hours a day.

Ed--do they pick you up at your car and drop you off there? I would assume so, since you say they load your luggage? How long does it take them to pick you up at the airport? We used to use Miami Fast Park in Miami and they were GREAT!! They always had vans circling the airport and we never waited more than about 10 minutes at the airport. For many shuttles, it takes FOREVER for them to pick you up at the airport.

Hi EdB. By established I meant profitable and they continue this as a non-stop. I also live in Florida and used Spirit (returned last Saturday). Although they were fine, with all the extra fees, brought the price to over $500. You got a great price!

Just saw a blurb that JB is adding FLL to Ecuador flights so they are ramping up their ops at FLL....I know everyone here was waiting for that N/S Equador flight but it shows promise for other destinations

Thanks for the advice on parking. Uber is fine to the airport, but it is a mess trying to get a ride home.
