Thought I posted this but maybe not!!! We are quite familiar with St. Martin but have not taken a day trip to Anguilla. Any suggestions? I know there is probably a ferry out of Marigot. Charter trips, etc.?

After you get off the ferry you can rent a car (I suggest) or taxi it. Shoal Bay is a world class spot. Several beach restaurants/bars with different takes on rum punch. We like the car rental which is just a little more than a taxi because it gives you the freedom to stop and travel the island as you wish.

Anguilla is a very expensive day-trip to attempt, particularly for a family, no matter how you do it but if you’ve never gone it’s so worth the day.

You can do a packaged daytrip through any number of companies that generally provide a r/t trip catamaran, sail or power boat trip with drinks and snacks and a stop at one of the out Islands or perhaps Rendevous Bay for lunch and a nice sail along the island of SXM.

And the other option is the ferry over either from Marigot $ or else somewhere near the airport $$, rent a car or take a taxi $$, drinks and/or lunch and possibly chair rentals while there or not $$$$ and lastly, departure fees from both SXM and AXA-$.

Don’t forget to bring your passports either way as they will be needed on both islands.

Respectfully,

pat

Agree with Pat. We took a day trip in 2017, Shoal Bay is great, but it is on the far side of Anguilla, when you add in the ferry from Anguilla, the taxi in Anguilla to and from Shoal Bay, and departure fees, it was a fairly expensive day.

Fun way to get to Shoal Bay is to take the Tango catamaran full day excursion that Aqua mania has. Look into it at www.stmaarten-activities,com

It's not cheap, but I can't say enough good things about Paper Boat Charters - http://www.paperboatcharter.com/

My wife and I did a day trip to Anguilla with Captain Elliot almost 2 years ago to the day, and it was truly one of the best days of our lives.

Does the GeeBee Express still go to Anguilla? We have used them twice before for a trip to Anguilla. My husband does not care for boats (motion sickness even with Dramamine) and GeeBee got us there so quickly. The faster the boat the better for him. If so, are they still located by the airport like pre-Irma? TY

Not sure who GeeBee is? There is however a GB Express that still operates. (stands for God's Blessings). We have used them for 8 years.

I would contact them direct as things can change rapidly, especially since Irma. The last I used them they did still depart from the "same place" but if I were considering using them I would call or email them for verification.

Neil,

You don't accept PM's, I'm looking for some car rental info. The last one we used we meet the guy on the ferry.

Several contact options on their website, including a US number that may still work. Good luck.

Neil,
Is there any other days which have live music during the day other than Sunday?
Txs.

We took a day trip in 2007 and LOVED Anguilla so much! Now we spend some of our days there. Shoal Bay East is a beautiful beach. If you take a boat trip from SXM make sure the trip includes that beach. We took a trip one year and were so disappointed. The beach we ended up at was awful and not what we were expecting! I really would suggest taking the public ferry over. Get a taxi to drop you off at SBE for the day. Lots of great places to try rum punch and have a great lunch. They will also take you back to the ferry when you are ready to leave. People on the island seem to know everyone so contacting your driver should not be a problem. It will not be a cheap day but it will be well worth it!! Anguilla is not like St Maarten. We love the 2 islands for different reasons!
