St. Maarten signed an agreement that would involve SXM in the efforts of Curacao in many areas. The most recent the aid piling up in Curacao heading to Venezuela this weekend and dealing with refugees. IMHO St. Maarten has enough to deal with post-Irma and should stay neutral in Curacao's involvement with South America.

I agree somewhat with your point because St. Maarten is still rebuilding from the hurricane and has other issues to deal with. I noticed that Bonaire was not a part of this co-op agreement. At first that seemed strange, but the three islands who did unite here are autonomous island countries whereas Bonaire is still considered a property of the Netherlands. But, overall I applaud SXM for their involvement, and it probably would have been looked upon poorly if Curacao and Aruba asked St. Maarten to join them in this struggle and they refused. Let's hope some good results emerge from this.

Since I am not a citizen of St. Maarten or Holland for that matter, I don't believe I can give my opinions on how SXM should conduct foreign affairs, etc. Just sayin' wink

Please watch this video and just think about how the Caribbean islands can be caught by surprise.
This does effect tourists when refugees come through back doors and have no jobs.
Crime, prostitution and drugs can become a problem very quickly.

No aid is getting in through Curacao Aruba or Bonaire...

The ABC islands are being blocked both air and sea.

Any aid trying to get in looks like this...

Any one know the status of the floating boats that come to Curacao daily from Venezuela?
