Anyone who has been to GC lately or is there now remember Hibiscus restaurant? It closed awhile ago and I'm wondering if anything is now in that place? It's on the non-water side closer to the end of Grand Case Blvd going toward GCBC. There used to be a dive shop near it (may still be there.)

I know there were at least 2 other restaurants following L' Hibiscus, which I believe never opened back up after Omar. I'm pretty sure when we were there last May, there was no sign of activity, but then, that pretty much described most of Grand Case. If my memory isn't failing me, the name of the last restaurant was L' Ardois (sp?).
I do remember our only meal there fondly, as we had the 7 item tasting menu, and the chef plied us with after dinner drinks after the meal.

I remember Hibiscus very well & going down the little path to enter the restaurant. I believe the whole building is gone now, via Irma.

Hibiscus was the first place I ever had fois gras. When I ordered I misread menu and thought it was Pate fois gras. When this pulsing mass arrived in front of me I didn't say or do anything. Hubby said it looked like a glob of chocolate pudding. Waiter came over and asked if anything was wrong and I said Oh no. Then he urged me to taste because it was good. WOW! was he right.
