Arrived to a downpour. Leslie found us and before paperwork complete rain had stopped. Too early for BSV check in so we drove to marina royal. Ate at La Main et Pate. Accra’s to start pork medallions for me pasta Bolognaise for hubby two glasses of rose wine.$62. Several places in Marina are open for lunch. Stopped at Rendezevous Bar in Porto Cupecoy for drinks and listened to a great trio perform. T he place was crowded. Met Martine and Cedric a couple living in Baie Rouge..great conversation including info on a place to possibly rent in the future.

check in easy, we are in unit 13 this trip. The place looks great. Vegetation has filled in, flowers in bloom. Tired we enjoyed the rest of the evening on lanai with drinks, cheese, baguette listening to the surf.

Trying to learn how to use an IPAD so taking lots of time to type learn log on etc. so I will end here. more later.

We should get together. Perhaps meet at Tropicana.

Sounds like a good beginning! I almost like #13 better than 14, as you have a bit more privacy from the pool, yet still very close and can park out front. Who is the manager of BSV now?? Enjoy!!

Looked like a full day. What are Accra's? Not sure what they are.

The manager of BSV now is a lovely lady originally from the Philippines. Her name is Bernadette and she is very attentive to the needs of all the guests. I hope she is there for many years as she is the best they have ever had there in many years. She does not live there as Marvlyn did but has her own home and family in St. Maarten

When we were there in June, they were still working on the apartment for the manager. Is it not finished yet?

Was that Emmanuel?

He was a tremendous help to us last trip. We had a new stove/oven and couldn’t figure it out. Emmanuel came to the unit tohelp us and he couldn’t either but he immediately summonsed an appliance repair person who showed us all how to use it. And then there was the tv issue - we couldn’t make the darned thing work to save our souls. Emmanuel had to come to the unit twice to ‘reset’ something and then he ultimately realized the problem was somewhere else in a junction or some other technical place. He never lost his patience and each time he came to us with a smile and an apology and couldn’t have been any nicer about helping us. What a great asset he is! But then, all the staff there is excellent so I guess I’m not surprised.

Respectfully,

pat

Carol, I am not sure. There is first building (unit?) with counter at side and door closed to go further inside. Not sure if this is living quarters. Will check further.

Pat, yes Emanulle, Very helpful...could not plug in coffee maker in nearby outlet so moved it. Passed him outside on our way to town and upon return it was back and working.

Yes, I think that is where the unit for the manager is supposed to be. I don't really need a manager, other than Emmanuel, because he can do anything I need, along with the maids, but I am interested, if you do see another manager there.

I thought there was a young man living there in November with his family.
I'm not sure what his position is.

There was a different girl too--I thought her name was Michele.
I don't remember Bernadette.
I could be wrong.

Everyone is fabulous there--I consider them friends after all this time and am going to miss them
this April.

The new manager has her own home so the apartment is rented out to one of the workers with a little baby. They have made a cement enclosure near unit #1 for their washer and dryer. He was building it when I was there in November.

Michelle was there Terry when we were there right before you. She also worked at Dinghy Dock. I think her name was Michelle?

Michelle was gone mid November. Tracy came to SXM and hired the new manager, Bernadette, when I was there. Emanuelle was stepping in to check guests in until the new manager was hired.

Acras de morue are cod fritters. We developed a taste for acras de morue in Guadeloupe, where the best restaurants serve them with a garlic dipping sauce. You're more likely to see acras de morue on the French side of St. Martin than the Dutch side.

I thought so, Louise--that's what one of the girls told me. smile

Elizabeth, Tracy was there when I left and you came the next day--so that's where the confusion lies.
Not really important....the young man with the family living there was also very nice.

Hope it all works out.

Yes, Tracy was there about 10 days and during that time she hired Bernadette. She is a real jewel!
