Way back in 1989, I stayed in Aruba at what I believe was called the "Divi Divi" resort, which had Lanai rooms facing along what I think was Eagle beach. Is this place still there and does it go by a different name? (I like low-rise places, as opposed to high rise hotels.)

Officially it is "Divi Aruba Beach Resort" but the old timers still call it Divi Divi and it is on Druif Beach.

-------------------------

These days it is strickly all-inclusive

However you can stay at Divi Golf and Beach Resort or Divi Dutch Village or Divi Village - all part of the same complex of properties...

MAP OF RESORTS

----------------
The Tamarijn Garden Suites shown on the map is really Divi Dutch Village - and Divi Village is part of the Golf and Beach Resort shown on the map - all-inclusive is optional at these resorts...

----------------

There is free shuttle service to all of these places and to the Alhambra Casino.

Right! We stayed at Divi Divi in 1999 and bought our timeshare in Divi Village. We alternate with Divi Little Bay in SXM. No regrets. Glad we bought it. In the future we would buy additional timeshare weeks on the secondary market only, however

Kid - have you considered renting additional weeks? prices look great at this time especially for Sint Maarten - check the link I posted above in my previous remarks. Enjoy!

We may consider renting more weeks in the future. I currently don't take more than one week vacation per year from my law practice. Maybe after I retire!

Stayed there in 1985 in the casitas. Liked the individual units better than hotel area. We were closer to beach too.

In the 1980's, my parents stayed at Divi Divi when they retired and loved it. Well, now we are the retirees, and are planning an April 2014 trip to Aruba. I am a long time vacationer to SXM, and my current husband has never been to The Caribbean. Would appreciate any input from recent visitors to The Divi Beach Resort, especially in regards to the resort conditions and the food. We are interested in the All Inclusive aspect, as we both have some mobility issues and most likely will be on resort property for most meals and evening activities. We also enjoy casinos, and will be donating to The Alhambra.. Thank You for any current information on this choice. Carol of Two Hearts

I also own at Casa Del Mar and I like Costa Linda a lot. I would say at these locations before I would rent at the Divi. Check online you can rent from a owner for a good price. La Cabana is ok.
