As far as I know, Maho is set to close this summer. I can't remember the exact date, May 15 or July 15?

If you haven't seen it, here is the camp's blog - http://mahobaycamps.blogspot.com/

Staff also told us it closes 5/16. Locals say the owners of the property declined to renew the land lease and intend to remove the facilities and build a single-family home.
The NPS moorings will stay in place, but no ice available between Cruz Bay and Coral Harbor. Trash disposal at Francis Bay should still be available.

IF it's fact, and the new owners intend to build only one villa I think that's great. My guess is that they would remove most of the tent decks and let the jungle quickly reclaim those areas while maintaining that great boardwalk through the property to the beach. If it was your property would you build near the beach, in the middle, or up by the pavilion?

IF they decide to subdivide, which would be my guess, that hillside will look like Peter Bay in a couple years. I'm used to it at Cinnamon, but if that happens at Maho we'll be depressed Positive is How I live, keep the faith

Once Maho closes, no store, restaurant, ice, glass blowing, etc.

I understood the entire place was closing on the 16th. There should be ice at Cinnamon, but it's a bit of a pain from the boat. Not that the umpteen steps up to the Maho shop weren't, but . . . .
