I know some have rented a car on the west coast of Florida, driven it to FLL and then took the JB flights to and from SXM and rented another car to return. We are going for 3 weeks in October and wondered if anyone knows of a Fort Lauderdale hotel that allows parking for 3 weeks if you spend a night there.

The Fairfield Inn & Suites on Griffin Road does. It may cost a few bucks, but I'm pretty sure they are one of theft hotels in this area where you can park for that long. And, it's really close to the airport. Check out the website for Park/Sleep/Fly and it should be listed. But, I'm confused. We're you going to fly to Tampa or Ft. Myers, rent a car there, and drive across to Ft. Lauderdale? Wouldn't it be easier just to fly to FLL, stay the night without a rental car, and continue on with Jet Blue to St. Maarten the next day? Figure the hotel is going to be at least $250, and one-way car rentals to-and-from Ft. Lauderdale are going to cost a few bucks plus the rising cost of gas. Just a thought.

We just drove from Naples Fl to FLL for the Jet Blue Flight, After checking all the park n fly deals out there, we found it was cheaper to rent a car each way. i did have a room at the Hilton Hampton Inn near the airport with the park n fly for 11 days for $300 plus. Doing the car rental we save about $125. We ended up staying at the Hampton Inn South and took the 5 a.m. shuttle which gave us plenty of time for the 747 am flight. We are members of Costco and rent all our cars through them. I believe we paid $55 each way.
