Feb. 10 Carriacou
Today is the day that I move to Hillsborough; I took my morning walk and then had breakfast at the hotel. The server informed me the credit card machine was done and I would have to pay for my room with cash, I didn’t have enough on me so I grabbed a bus to Tyrell Bay to get some from the ATM.

My taxi arrived as arranged and soon I was loaded up and on my way. This will be my second time staying at Ade’s Dream in the center of town; it is a decent place, the rooms have a gas cook top, fridge, microwave and toaster, there is a huge balcony in front on each floor in addition to a small one off the room. If you are anchored off the town or staying somewhere without internet, you can purchase a two week access code here for 20 EC. Things still weren’t as lively in town as I had envisioned for Carnival, there were some food and drink stands and music up and down the street but not the crowds I had expected. I walked down to the end of the beach and found an old stone seawall that was partially collapsed; I sat there a while and relaxed thinking how nice it would be to have Kim here tomorrow.

I went back to the room to check the status of her flights, when I saw her Chicago to Miami flight was delayed one hour I became concerned because she only had 1 ½ hours connection time for the flight to Grenada. I decided to e-mail my local number to her friend, Joanne, in case she got stranded in Miami; when I opened my e-mail I saw an urgent message from Joanne that Kim had missed her morning flight from Buffalo, this is turning into a bad movie. I called Kim right away and she was very stressed out and having an anxiety attack, I tried to calm her, they had rescheduled her for Tuesday, but it almost sounded like she was going to cancel out all together. Things livened up at the festivities that night but I couldn’t enjoy myself worrying about Kim and all she was going through. The music and partying continued on throughout the night but I went in early waiting to see what tomorrow would bring.
