Highlights from our annual trip to the BVI

Stayed at Spyglass Villa in Leverick Bay for the second time.
- Trudi King of Best of BVI was once again very helpful with all arrangements for the villa, car, etc.
- The location of Spyglass is wonderful. We spent many hours on the deck watching the activity in North Sound. (Kim, you must have really enjoyed it when you owned Spyglass.)

Flying into Virgin Gorda
- This was our first time doing so
- It is so much easier than our normal route of flying into Beef Island and taking the North Sound Express ferry
- We used Island Birds. Nadia Penn was very helpful with planning and reservations and Kevin, our pilot for both flights was also great. (We also used them to fly VG to Antigua and the end of the week)

L&S car rental – Thanks to Leon for making a Sunday morning car exchange very easy

Hog Heaven
- We made two visits - one for dinner and one for drinks
- Views are as spectacular as everyone has mentioned
- We very much enjoyed chatting with Titus and Olga (wife of Blondie the owner)

Cocomaya
- We had heard so many good things about it, we had to try it and it didn’t disappoint
- Great location, architecture, and food
- Glen behind the bar and Lisa as our server provided excellent service
- The staff is new and was almost trying too hard at times
- Many reviews had mentioned problems with insects but we had none, unlike at other locations on the island

LSL Deli in the marina
- Large, delicious, inexpensive sandwiches

Chef's Pantry in Leverick Bay - very nice grocery store

Chef Chet Peters
- The absolute highlight of the week was the private dinner that Chef Chet prepared for us at the villa
- For about the same cost as the higher end restaurants on island, he prepared the best meal of the trip – four courses served to us as we sat on the deck under the light of the full moon.
- He is a very nice guy and excellent chef, and someone who we highly recommend

Sailing on Bravura
- Another trip highlight. We had a great extended half day of sailing and I was able to sail almost the entire time
- Bravura is beautiful boat and sails very well
- Capt. Bob is a very nice guy and an excellent cook

Drinks at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS)
- Beautiful location and a very friendly staff from the general manager on down
- The drink special of 2 Heinekens for $3 was an unexpected treat

And finally, seeing people all over the island who remembered us from previous trips and meeting new folks.

Low lights

Mosquitos – They were far, far worse this year than we have ever experienced. The worst location, not surprisingly, was the dock at the Fat Virgin just after sunset.

Saba Rock water ferry service – We had two very long waits to leave, one of which was about an hour
