Just returned from 17 days on island...will TRY to keep it short...but sometimes it is hard to do. Here goes!

Airlines American no issues either way

Accomodations Flamingo All is good and looking good.

Weather It was breezier than normal and other than two pretty rainy days the weather was good.

Food Think groceries were more expensive this year but that is the case at home too, so no big surprise.

Restaurants We are not the gourmet kind of group and so you will find the list pretty basic.

Breakfast We have a tendancy to eat a LOT of bakery items such as chocolate croissants, ham and cheese croissants, etc from Le Suiccre (spelling?), Taste Factory, etc. Also ate at Alexanders, SMYC for breakfast.

Lunch Mostly make our lunch unless out and about so we can enjoy our sun time. Of course Andy and Cheryls on Orient a must.

Dinner Some of our favorites in no particular order...and some were visited more than once. Boathouse,Tutta Pasta,Chesterfields,Greenhouse,Toppers,Bucaneer Beach Beach Bar,Pizza Galley,SMYC ,Bavaria. Special notation...we have been visiting the island since the late 80's and I am remiss to say this is the first time we have eaten at Bavaria...I have often wanted to try it but some of my family had the idea too heavy of food for an island vacation...well! Have to say finally went and it was wonderful. Went back for a second visit and it will be an automatic visit from now on. Wonderful folks and food.

Stuff Pinel and Orient, not that busy when we were there. Did see law enforcement stopping cars on the round about by cul de sac...didn't feel unsafe at anytime but also wasn't out too late. Enjoyed music at BBB and Red Piano and the Super Bowl party at BBB was a blast. Island looks very green and traffic wasn't too bad. Car Rental from Alain at AAA, GREAT service as usual. Stopped at Boca Marina for a drink at happy hour but didn't make it back for dinner, liked it and will try to eat there next trip. Also stopped at Tahoma for a drink. Nice setting and very quiet. Driftwood always busy. Missed Cafe on the Bay kept looking for it as I was hoping they had reopened. La Bamba was closed for most of our trip but is now reopened. Always good to see old friends, sorry I missed Norm and Betties party.... Always fun to meet new people and make friends we hope to see on our next trip and this year was no exception. Time went by too fast. Already booked for next year! Now back to reality and the tan is fading already! Not to mention the 10 pounds I gained...did I mention I love their criossants!!!<img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" />
