Day 1:
This trip there were 3 couples, two flying from Washington DC and one flying from Tampa. This was our first non-stop from IAD to SXM on United, it only flies Saturday to Saturday in Season. What a way to go. We usually take the American flight from DCA thru Miami. The flight was over booked took about an hour to get everyone onboard. The flight arrived on time. We were met at the airport by Unity. They drove us to their lot and we receive our two Toyotas in less than 20 minutes. We drove to Sharon’s and picked up two cell phones. We drove back to the airport to pick up the third couple. To our surprise the wife did not make the flight. (She discovered that her passport had expired. After some phone calls she had to fly to Atlanta on Monday go to the passport office to get a rushed passport she had it a little after noon. She was able to get on an American flight from Atlanta to St. Martin. We picked her up Monday night.) The five of us drove to Orient Beach and settled in to our Townhouse Menorca 1 for the week.
We had dinner in Grand Case at Sky’s the Limit. Everyone’s food was very good except my wife’s chicken it was dry. The bill was about $65.00 5 dinners and some drinks. We walked down to Il Nettuno as we had plans to watch the Redskins’ playoff game there the next night. We were told the only screen would be in the dining room and you had to order a meal.

Day 2:
Spent all day at Le Strings beach bar. John the chair man is still working for Le Strings I had not seen him since 2007 and he remembered us. As we were walking up the beach he came over to say hi. The weather was a little windy, a brief rain shower arrived at 1PM we went under cover and had lunch. Lunch was very good. After the shower we went back to the chairs for a couple more hours. We drove over to Captain Oliver’s and watched the Redskin game at Maggi's Sport Bar. The beer was cold the bar food was so-so. After the game we eat dinner at Dinghy Dock. I had a fantastic Tuna Steak.

Day 3:
Another day at Le Strings, we walked up to Orange Fever. We order Pizza and salads both were great. We drove to Simpson Bay and had dinner at the Boat House. This was our less favorite meal, the food was average. Don’t know if we will go back there as there are so many places to eat in St. Martin. We picked up our missing person at the airport and drove home.

Day 4:
Everyone woke up early as we were supposed to do the Rock 'n Roll Safari our plan was to have an early breakfast and head out. We received a phone call that the Safari had been cancelled due to the winds and rough sea. So another full day at Le Strings, we ate lunch at Andy and Cheryls. The food was great and both Andy and Cheryl were in good moods. Cheryl looks great and Andy had on his same undershirt. We went to the Blue Martini in Grand Case for dinner. The food was excellent service is a little slow but it is worth the wait.

Day 5:
Half the day at Le Strings and shopping in Phillipsburg, we stopped in DK Gems. We bought a pair of earrings for my wife and a ring for me. They were also available to resize a signet ring of mine. They have always taken good care of us, Deepti was not in. We went to the Greenhouse for happy hour, then drove to the Sunset Bar and Grill. This is the first time I have been there since the new owners. The food was average, but most people do not go there for the food.
Day 6:
We went to Friars Bay. Had a great time almost no wind and the water was calm. We ate lunch at Friars Bay Beach Club, the restaurant on the left side when looking at them from the water. The food was very good. Later that evening we went to Poulet de Orleans. If you have never been here you need to go, It was the best conch I have ever had. He cooked it a lemon butter season. He talked me out of having it Cajun. We had six meals; two bottle of wine and some beers the total was less than $160.00.

Day 7:
Le Strings all day, had lunch at Ethics. The food was very good service a little slow took an hour and a half from ordering to bill. Went to dinner at Le Piment in Orient Beach Village, first time there the food was good. The menu is French and Italian with some American thrown in. We will try it again.

Day 8:
Leaving no surprises which is a good thing. Check out and returning the cell phones and cars painless. The flight back was on time and smooth. A good time was had by all.

Overview this was my first trip back in three and a half years, we had stayed away because the last three trips we either had cars broken into or a home evasion to the house next to us. This trip was perfect just a little windy. The house we stayed in was nice the only problem with the house was it was listed as a four bedrooms and bath. Each bedroom did have a shower and a sink but only one toilet in the hall on both floors. No sink in the toilet closet. I like to thank eveyone who gave us advice on TTOL, we had a great vacation.
