Great article.
Another important thing for boaters with backpacks when traversing from boat to shore should not put them on if you’re carrying your scuba gear with weight belt inside or any other heavy item which will make you sink like an anchor if you fall in.

I’ve seen many people wearing back packs on dinghies but haven’t seen anyone fall into the water except for myself once luckily without heavy weights just laundry

We wear inflatable fanny packs in the dinghy at night. Ours are manual. When we get to the dock they go into the shore bag. No exceptions.
