We are going to Italy on a cruise and planning on disembarking one day earlier in Naples instead of the following day in Rome due to convenience post cruise. We have been in touch with Holland America regarding this request which they have approved. They indicated that we are responsible for any additional costs at the pier/port in Naples. We were wondering if anyone has ever disembarked one day earlier and if so what the costs would be at the pier/port if any? Just want to be prepared ahead of time. Thanks in advance.

If HAL approved in advance, should not be any issue. No need to worry IMHO

We have disembarked early from a cruise with no problem with approval before sail date. You can also join late.
What cruise lines have NOT let us do was to skip ports intentionally and rejoin while leaving our stuff onboard.
We wanted to leave the boat in Invergordon Scotland and take a train to edinburgh and get back on the boat. There may/may not have been a day at sea between the two ports. Its a security issue somehow.
