Canada Revenue is not allowing the rich thieves to volunteer to fess up. Although the government has unlimited legal resources to fight these rich thieves the only winners will be the sleazeball lawyers working for the thieves.

And then there are the Paradise Papers

And pretty ballsy of that old goat Wilbur Ross,US Commerce Secretary, to continue to benefit from his offshore ties, especially those owned by everyone's favourite Commie Vlad Putin.

There is a long and revered tradition of this business in the BVI ---- Govt. and private enterprises.

Bringing up Mr. Murphy's name will not get you any free drinks in any Caribbean dockside watering holes.

Back in the day Romney was the agent for our BVI Company, and Shaun was his rep. We had dinner with Shaun and his wife at their home and had a wonderful evening. We laughed about the room full of cigars that Shaun had in his home - the result of repossessing a startup BVI cigar company that failed. It all seemed very innocent.

Shaun seemed to be a sweet, gentle man. After it all went down a short time later it seemed incongruous with the guy we came to know.

It was great to be young and stupid!

Do you remember the safe from the Romney office mysteriously 'being stolen' when it all went down? Any idea what happened to the Murphys? I know they went into witness protection (although someone in the BVI claimed to have heard from Shaun later on). Jenny was so nice I wonder if she knew what was going on? Strange times.

Ha!Yes! I almost forgot about that!

The last I heard they were running a B&B in Portugal, but that was a long time ago.

Never slowed down "Mr. 10%". I will never understand why someone who was so good at raiding the cookie jar is still so honored. The BVI is still paying for the Global Water Paraquita Bay sewer plant fiasco. Romney got caught at MIA trying to leave for home with $1 million in undeclared cash in his luggage, his fee for that deal, and it never made the local papers.

Since this has turned into a political thread I’ll give a similar incident with the Mayor of Atlanta caught on camera doing smoking Crack and accepting monies for some under handed deal where he was arrested and the people voted him in again as Mayor.

We were at EIS around that time when a private jet was being loaded with what appeared to be canvas bags of cash, stacked on a pallet. There were about 8 or so armed guards, facing in all directions on the tarmac. Air traffic was stopped until the transfer was completed. Dunno if it had anything to do with anything, but it was really unusual!

I think that 10% Cyril was revered for his cunning - even though it was ethically questionable. Most people wished that they could be him!

Remember when Prospect went belly-up and the government took it over, it turned out the time-share owners didn't own anything. The government continually denied any responsibility to the time-share owners, saying that their beef was with "the previous management" of Prospect, and that the government had purchased it "free and clear". They were unwilling to even say the name Romney in a bad connotation!

That timeshare debacle was a real shame. So many people lost their money and their dreams....with no recourse.
