Thinking of going late June 2013 and staying Two weeks. Looking for something equal to a Hampton Inn. Any recommendations. Thanks in advance.

We're spending a couple of nights in Tokyo on our way to Beijing for a Viking River Cruise in May, 2014. Our research thus far has shown us only that hotels in Tokyo are extremely expensive; the Hilton is around $400 per night. We're working with a travel agent who is helping us to find something, but it's too early to make reservations for our dates. Pretty much everything there is high-rise, and I don't think there's anything like a Hampton Inn.

Oh my that is expensive...We maybe looking into Hostels. But just in the first stage of researching. Viking River Cruise sounds wonderful. Travel away.

Anyone who has any info on Japan the information would be appreciated. Oh ya and believe it or not we are Disney fans so we will be doing 2 or 3 days at Disneyland Japan and Disney Sea..even though everone is trying to talk me out of going to Disney it won't work. Disney Japan we will go. Regina

Hey, Disney isn't my thing, but if it's yours, then don't let anyone talk you out of it! I really do suggest you talk to a travel agent though. It doesn't cost you anything, they do all the research for you, and you often get perks that you wouldn't get otherwise.

Can't wait to read about your trip!!

Thank you for the information. It was our Daughter traveling and she just got home last night 07/03/2013. Went to spend Two weeks with a high school friend who's Grandmother is from Japan and lives in the area of Tokyo near Miyazakidai train station. She was able to stay free at the Grandmother's the first week. Second week she traveled north to Misawa Air Force Base where her friends husband is stationed.

Thanks again,

Chuck

I'm glad she was able to work something out. We have changed our plans and eliminated the Tokyo stopover from our itinerary.
