I know that the BVI has higher lodging prices in the winter months and cheaper prices in the summer time.
I do not know if the USVI does the same and we are thinking about spending some time at a hotel in
St. Thomas in April of next year. Are the prices going to be higher then, and lower in May? Or, I'm trying
to save a few dollars...lol. Thanks for any input/info.

Yes, like in the BVI's you'll generally find that in the USVI's there will be higher room rates during the winter months and lower rates during the summer. FYI - this will be the case throughout the Caribbean.

While it is difficult to "generalize" you'll normally find most Caribbean hotels and resorts have 3 "rate seasons" as follows (dates will vary slightly and some may only have 2 "seasons):

High Season - Mid-December through Easter - Highest rates

Shoulder Season - November 1 to mid-December and from just after Easter to end of June - Rates lower than High Season but higher than Low Season

Low Season - End of June through end of October - Lowest rates of the year (Note: Many hotels & resorts close in September and October).

USVI rates generally drop mid-April. Check out Olga's, Island View and Mafolie.

Depends a bit on which USVI you are looking at exploring. St. Thomas has Carnival the last 2 weeks of April and that puts some pressure on accommodations, May prices will be lower. AirBnB pricing often does reflect lower pricing in April and later - Hotels will certainly have some reduction in rates after the Winter season, the dates vary.

Yes rates are typically higher anywhere in the Carib during high season. Sometimes rates are reduced April 16 but the cut off between High/low season is property specific, and as mentioned special events can also increase rates. We rent a condo at the Sapphire Beach Resort & Marina property on STT after staying on Tortola, for example, and the rate is higher from Dec - mid April than mid-April - late Nov...
