I can’t remember what day it is but we’ve been here for six days so this report will pick up where I last left off. Mike (Wingman) wrote up a lot of what I may add too. Tuesday as planned we drove to Orient and spent the day at LaPlaya. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.traveltalkonline.com/gallery/40/full/4334.jpg) Bruno was there to greet us. A gorgeous beach day where we sat on our lounge chairs to enjoy the sun, swim, friendship. We ate lunch in the main dining area under a large tent. I’m happy to say that the fried chicken rolls are still very good – well better than good – excellent. I’m a huge fan of the crispy rolls where you take a lettuce leaf with a piece of mint tucked inside and then wrapped around the chicken roll and dip into a sweet fish sauce. We shared those and a shrimp tempura with a great sriracha mayo. Several of us ordered the BoBun salad and others a cheeseburger. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.traveltalkonline.com/gallery/40/full/4341.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://www.traveltalkonline.com/gallery/40/full/4337.jpg) How we had room for dinner I’ll never know but we did. We dined at Izi’s to celebrate our friend, Billy’s birthday. Mike and Billy eat there often but this was our first time and won’t be our last. It hasn’t been humid since our arrival so we've dined outdoors when possible. It was very comfortable eating outside once again. I had the swordfish in tomato sauce, capers which came with rice. (no photo) The swordfish was cooked perfectly in what I would call a ala puttanesca style sauce. I splurged and had the pistachio gelato with almonds for dessert. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.traveltalkonline.com/gallery/40/full/4340.jpg) Spent Wednesday at and around BSV, surf is still very strong all along Simpson Bay, so most of the day was spent at the pool. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.traveltalkonline.com/gallery/40/full/4339.jpg) We hosted a cocktail party with appetizers for the gang and off everyone went to do their own thing. David and I were exhausted so decided to stay home. Happy Halloween all. Hope to have some nice photos to post tomorrow or day after. Off to SMYC for breakfast.

Thanks for the report, Louise! Had Bruno run that marathon yet? I couldn't remember when he said it was going to be. That pistachio dessert looks fabulous! It's been a while since I've been at Izi. I didn't remember there being outside seating. It was so HOT when we were on island, I would have definitely wanted a/c, in order to eat pasta. Did you make the appetizers for the party or did you buy them from somewhere?

Carol, he ran it and I believe his team won.
There was a nice breeze at Izi so it was a good night for outdoor. The Owner wanted us to be more comfortable so he brought over a portable air conditioner. We were very comfortable.
We purchased the apps over at Carrefour (the big) one near the old Harley place. One of these days I'll remember that road/areas names. Not a huge amount to choose from. We bought frozen Tyson bbq chicken bites, dumplings (I boiled them) and beef samosas. Had fun size halloween candy from home and decorations from home. Cheese, grapes and crackers. The samosas never cooked properly in the oven so those went in the garbage. Some Friday's brand frozen stuff but nothing I was interested in.
In hindsight we should have picked up a bunch of wings from Wingfest. Has anyone tried them? It's near Izi's.

Ok, thanks for the info. Glad that Bruno's team won. I didn't actually realize it was a team event.
I've done some parties on SXM before, usually did some really simple things myself, but of course the thing that always went the best was the shrimp. Seems that's the way at any party! That was really neat of you to host the event. Sounds like fun!

I agree on the shrimp; but aside from David and I this is not much of a shrimp group. We made them twice and most went uneaten.
