This reports our observation on Traffic and Road conditions from July 18 to August 5.

Traffic volume was much lower than in past years. There is now a new section of the link 1 that runs past Divi AND now connects onto Cole Bay Hill. This gives a second way to get out of P-Burg. Union Road still has a by-pass for construction. That makes it possible to get though the intersection of the Cole Bay Hill Road and Welfare road (bottom of Cole Bay Hill) more rapidly than normal.

The number of motorcycles and suicyclists in particular were much, much lower. Whether there has been a crackdown or whether they have been killed off, we do not know, but we are happy to not have to deal with them as much.

There were as always many spectacular wrecks. It is amazing how fast people can get their cars going on those roads. In one case, a VW Beetle slammed into a wall so hard that the engine was ejected and landed three hundred or so feet away. Fortunately the driver survived.

Many of the roads have been repaved since last year. However the road to the Butterfly Farm continues to degrade. It is hard to call it a paved road. The road to Club O is still gravel with speed bumps. There appears to have been no grading since the bumps were installed last year. Actually I suspect the bumps are culverts to allow water to flow and drain between the salt ponds.
