Thursday - the real Thursday this time since you may have noticed I have a bit of a problem with days and dates and keeping them straight this trip - and Friday, too, were very quiet days for us. We didn’t sleep well Wednesday night so we were both content to stay in bed a little later Thursday morning.

Our daughter was on an all day around the island boat trip with old friends and new, and once again, Miriam and Pieter did not disappoint. The big draw was to swim with the turtles at Tintamarre and my understanding is mission accomplished. We were content to spend most of our day right here at BSV. In the late afternoon friends from the Towers arrived for their now annual Nov/Dec trip to BSV so a little catching up was nice.

Thursday dinner - an instant replay at Sublime. Good company plus good food equals good times and this was no exception. The food was just as enjoyable the second time. They’re just too good for the present location and I’m so very sorry they lost the Summit as their home. We enjoyed six different meals and each one was very good and the prices all so very reasonable.

Friday coffee in our unit here at BSV and as we were sitting at the table it suddenly got a little darker in the room and the rains came down. For all of maybe five minutes?! And in no time flat you’d never know it had rained.

We stopped by Mullet and grabbed lunch to go from Rosie’s and headed off to have lunch with our daughter at her condo overlooking Cupecoy Beach.Boy, do we love those ribs and her view. DH did a plumbing service call while there and we were off again, but I’m wondering if the IRS would let us write off the trip as a business expense.Mebbe not!

We stopped by the Towers and saw a few of the staff we missed the other day but we still didn’t manage to see James. Still no real answer as to why/how some owners are allowed to stay there.......other than ‘they just showed up!’

Back to BSV for nappy time and then the pleasure of visiting with friends and more pool time with friends.

We had a light dinner next door at El Zafiro and then onto the Casino Royale where they were glad to accept our contribution. Home now and in for the night.

The state of things:
The waves are still crashing along our stretch of beach but not as hard as when we first arrived, and the surf is still coming in very high and relatively close to the buildings. No seaweed at all.

Saba seems to think she wants to come back. And maybe even bring another neighboring island, too. But she’s hesitant and still a bit hazy but becoming clearer today with each hour that passes.

At least one large Yacht was anchored off this stretch of beach overnight and is still there today. Hopefully a sign of more soon come...... they will probably all be back for the season.

The day-time visitors along Maho Beach - aka - Sunset Beach seem to have little concept they are blocking a public road as they stroll along it with their cell phones, go-pros and beers and the buses dropping off and picking up their fares could also care less.

No moskies to speak of where we are, or for that matter, where we’ve been. Nine nights and we’ve used one OFF mosquito wipe so far and that was more jic rather than from necessity.

Driving through Maho Village last evening we were amazed at how quiet it was but there was a lot more activity this evening.

Respectfully,

pat

Thanks for the report! Hey, have that daughter of yours post some pictures of that condo of hers. That would be cool!

Pat, it's funny, for me too, I kept getting confused on which day it was on this past trip. I kept telling myself the reason is that vacation is working and doing what it's supposed to do. Couldn't be anything else. Sounds like perfect days. Keep up the good work.

I like your description of the day-time visitors.

I'm going where the weather suits my clothes.

So true! Or they sit on the jersey wall as if it's a fricking bench seat and have their legs in the road!!
