As a tourist, there's no need to panic. You can still smoke just about everywhere. However, some of the resorts banned smoking on their grounds a while back. EG: Sunset at the Palms.
What bothers me is the smell of skunk in the air.

Carol,
You know I wouldn't post about skunk right?
LOL
I figured that's what it was about. Don't recall seeing Jamaicans smoking cigs all the time.
Cheers

I never heard it called that before. Never was a fan of the smell, that's for sure!

The ban is on smoking of LEGAL substances.
Skunk is just my personal euphemism for Ganja, vitamin G, weed etc.
The smell very stongly resembles the south end of a northbound skunk.

e cigs are the coming of the future. no smell, no chemicals and you can even put weed in them. more to follow . . . .

p.s. skunk is a smell associated with a type of marijuana(sp?)usually bad
