We've been to Marigot 4 times since Saturday. Lots of activity & stores opening. 2 goldfinger stores lovely store fronts. New wood decking in marina royale. Lots more yachts & boats everywhere there. Everyone friendly & courteous drivers. Food still excellent in restaurants. So far ate at Le Croissant Royal, Bistro de la Mer, la main a la pate in Marigot. More boats than last year. Big differences. Some refurbishing happening as well. Felt safe everywhere. Nice vibe.

We were in Marigot today and it was bustling. Lots of cruisers in town and we noticed some had ventured away from the market area to visit stores in other areas. We walked from the market area along a street one block in from the water down to the marina restaurants and there were still many buildings in need to repair and unopened store fronts but there were many opened and lots of people around. As we drove through town we did see lots of work nderway on roof tops of apartments and other buildings.

You will likely have to run a translation to read the article

While the above article is a week old, I understand there are still possible problems with passage through Sandy Ground as burnt vehicles may still be partially blocking the road.

The good news is that negotiations are underway, and at this point the authorities prefer negotiations to sending in the police: "To resolve the crisis that has paralyzed Sandy Ground for almost three weeks, dialogue is the preferred means. At this stage of the negotiations, the authorities do not want to use force to lift the roadblocks."
