When we were on island in February, Long Bay Resort was looking pretty rough. Have they started any cleanup on that yet? We're considering renting a villa there but wonder what the view will be like.
Thanks!
Kendra

Long Bay Resort even at its peak was like a morgue, a large but boring resort with Zero service.

We weren't looking to stay at the resort, just in that area. It was virtually destroyed along the waterfront so I was wondering if it still looks like that.

Drove through several weeks ago. The overpass is gone - a good thing. The beach looks clean enough, but the beachfront buildings were not yet fixed up. So certainly not a resort yet, but probably not an eyesore from up the hill.

There hasn't been much work to date but I wouldn't hesitate to rent one of the villas. The view will still be spectacular and the beach itself is still fine.

We were just there in November staying in a vrbo on Long Bay. The beach is as beautiful as ever. Most days we were the only people on the beach, but it was November.
Long Bay looks deserted. The only restaurant is Tropical Fusion Beach Bar And Grill. I guess the houses/condos up the hill are okay. We enjoyed a few quiet days there, would jeep to Smugglers Cove everyday for a fun atmosphere and calm water.
