Headed up to north sound tomorrow and was wondering if there are any alternate mooring besides leverick. I’ve heard biras creek maintains a few moorings still despite no facilities. I planned on anchoring off vixen point but I like options. Thanks for the info.

I have heard the Saba and BEYC moorings are still in place but not maintained. Caveat Emptor.

Biras Creek has a handful, spent a night on one last year. They came by and picked up the money around dusk. Super quiet over there, nothing open.

No pendants on those either. I'd rather anchor off Sandbox or Drakes.

I know this reply is too late to help for the 16th, but well-maintained balls (approximately 10) are available in Deep Bay. The balls are just off Oil Nut Bay Marina and one pays at the marina office.

Good morning all. To second OceanSong, I also realize this reply is late, but I am the Assistant Marina Manager at Oil Nut Bay and we have 11 mooring balls (all professionally maintained) for first come, first serve availability in Deep Bay, Virgin Gorda. We are located just east of the North Sound and maintain a marked channel between Saba Rock and the Bitter End Yacht Club. As long as your yacht has a draft of 6 feet or less, you have plenty of water depth to make it through the channel.

We also have overnight dock space available for rent and our Marina Village just opened in April of 2019 and has our restaurant Nova serving breakfast, lunch and dinner as well a pool and other amenities. We are a full service marina offering water, ice, garbage disposal and a fuel dock.

Saba Rock and BEYC mooring balls do not have painters and I would not recommend tying up to them. Sandbox (Vixen Point) also does not have moorings, but is a good anchorage. The only other spots in the North Sound besides us with maintained moorings are: Leverick Bay (obviously) and Biras Creek. Biras has 6 moorings which are all professionally maintained by Sunchaser Scuba. It is a great spot to hide out and spend the night if conditions are really windy.

Oil Nut Bay is great. And no Boatyballs. Let’s hope that they keep it that way.

Deep Bay/ Oil Nut Bay is great alternative to Leverick Bay. The channel is well marked. Visiting Marina is nice.

The resort is super nice, but now quite pricey$$$ access fee.
