Monday 9/29

Today was our daysail on the White Squall! Second time for Belinda and I so we took a Lyle Lovett cd for the crew, best song on it being "If I had a boat".. Had a good time snorkeling at Norman, the Indians, etc. and spotted quite a few sea turtles, rays, etc. Swimming around at one point we were about 10 feet from a Barracuda who was quite interested in watching what we were doing Unfortunately, he also had a length of fishing line dangling from his jaw. Never did bother anyone, he was just curious. When we got back on White Squall they had prepared a delicious BBQ lunch of which I included Mr. Barracuda Sure was fun to throw chicken drumsticks over and watch them be QUICKLY devoured. Had a great sail back to Roadtown!

Kept our promise and went to Clem's by the Sea that night for dinner and met a couple from the daysail there who we had suggested Clem's to. Just the four of us and Clem so he brought out his steel drum and played just for us. He made a delicious goat stew and mahi We'll definitely go back next trip. Clem's a great guy!!

Tuesday

Went to the Beach Cafe @ LBBR for breakfast, outstanding setting for any meal right on the beach under trees sitting in the gazeebo. Very reasonably priced also. Surf was up pretty good too. After that, drove to Ample Hamper and put together a picnic lunch for later. We had planned to set up our lunch at the beach further down from LBBR but the surf was really up and left nowhere near the water to sit. Where to now? CANE GARDEN BAY We got there and found CGB almost deserted. We sat at one of the picnic tables near Myett's, had our lunch, and met a very industrious fellow named "One Love" One Love sells things and is quite the businessman and gentleman. No hard sell, simply asked us if we would be interested in any souvineers, wraps, etc. We politely told him know, he wished us a good day and started to walk off. That's when it dawned on me that my bride probably must have some sort of wrap. Well actually, Belinda told me Bought her two wraps, took several great pix's of One Love showing Belinda different ways to tie them (Hey, watch it!) and admired his sign for "One Love's Carribbean Rub Massages" told you he was a businessman! Went back to Coconut Point and explored the little pool until the sunset and took some more pix's!! Dinner back at Myett's that night, still very good

Wednesday - last day

We decided to spend our last day this trip just relaxing at Coconut Point. Sat on the porch at Orchid first with coffee then rum/coke and the remaining Hot Pockets I bought in a moment of weekness Watched a rainshower come and go very quickly. Finally decided it was time to get moving, finished packing and left Orchid around 10:45AM checked out at Sebastain's, returned our jeep to Hertz and were sitting at the ferry dock by 11:30AM. While we waited, a Port Authority officer engaged us in small talk, I think the Mike's Lemonades gave us away as visitors, and was very pleasant. He came back a few minutes later, introduced himself as Allan Rhymer and told us of a rental property he and his wife Joycelyn have just above CGB. Low season it goes for only $450/week with a/c!!! They will also do a six course meal of local cuisine at their home very reasonably priced Great more food We'll take him up on the dinner suggestion next trip. We got on the 12:15 ferry to STJ, were there and through customs by 1PM and had lunch at J.J's in Cruz Bay. Took the 2:10 ferry direct to CA and cabbed to the airport where we were at our gate by 3:30 for the 5:40 departure.

This was our second trip to Tortola in two years but MANY more to come as we have so much more to experience there. Next time will be this coming April for our 10th anniversary which we would love to celebrate at Brandywine In the meantime, great pictures and memories will hold us
