It doesn't specifically mention St Martin or other french Islands.

If France does it, French St. Martin and other French islands typically are required to follow.

Yes I know that is what usually happens but in the past all these news releases stated that. This one did not.

Check out the FB groups. They all mention the French Side adhering to the post.

By the way, the French side of SXM never HAS been in lockdown, like the Dutch side. Restricted movement throughout the territory, yes, but not a LOCKDOWN, like on the Dutch side. As Ritchard has posted, they can still go to the grocery store, gas station, walk the dog, etc., if they fill out the form and have it with them.

Lock down seems to have a different connotation on the French Side. VERY restricted movement is permitted by individuals IF they have the signed, dated and correct box checked on the French form. All persons are confined to only the French Side of the island and cannot cross the border to the Dutch Side. There is no swimming allowed, as one boater received a 135 euro fine yesterday when swimming around his own boat in Grand Case. Beaches are also closed. So not a total lock down as with the Dutch side and the French Side still has liquor sales!

As I said, it never was a lockdown on the French side.

A very long time friend lives on the French side and his daughter who lives with him works at the Dutch hospital. She travels back and forth daily, with the proper paperwork and is often checked at the border crossings according to him. You really need to double check some of the information you are passing on.

Excuse me Ruralcarrier but I am on the island now, unlike you. The man's daughter can travel on the Dutch Side IF she has a signed permit from the Dutch Chief of Police and her French form filled out properly. That is the only way she can travel on either side of the island. The Dutch Chief of Police has over 1,000 applicants wishing to travel, and that is just for Dutch Side travel.

The locals have ways around everything, obviously. The black market trading of liquor is another example of cross side commerce.
