We just moved our charter from May to early December. All our previous charters have been from April-July. What can we expect the differences to be in wind, crowds, and weather to be? Looking forward to seeing our favorite places in another time of the year!!!

Looking forward to seeing the responses because we've always chartered during the period you are going to and not when you've been, but we will be going next time in the period you have experienced

Early December is a great time of year. The water is still warm, the Christmas winds usually have not kicked in and its not crowded. Drier than November.
Everything is open and the locals are a bit more welcoming. Late November/early December has been our go to the last ten years.

You’ll find the evenings cooler, water cooler and the seas larger and more northerly which will make the north shore anchorages a bit rolly.
Sometimes the Xmas winds kick in early so sailing will be with double reefed main.
All shops and restaurants will be in full swing. The island feeling isn’t as idyllic as in the spring and summer months.

We changed after Irmaria to early Dec 2018 (normally we go in Oct). The water was cooler than Oct, but not too cold. Definitely needed a wet suit for diving though. Everything was good, but we did get rollers at Cooper. Crowds weren't bad and we never had a problem getting a mooring or slip, whatever we wanted. Still prefer Oct, but wouldn't hesitate to go in early Dec. again.
