Part 2 of 3

Tues, June 4 - day 4 – Trellis to North Sound
Quick breakfast and off the ball at 8:20. Great sail to North Sound, though dodged lightening and got a little wet. Were in the slip at Leverick at 12:20. Dock crew was great at helping the newbie with his first solo docking. Got car from L&S thanks to Nick.
Lunch at Bath & Turtle, tour of the Baths (highlight of the trip that pictures can never do justice), showers, steak dinner, jumbies. Saw Capt Eddie and his new crew at the bar.

A great day in paradise. This was probably our best day…just not enough time to document everything.

Wed, June 5 - day 5
Up early again. Checked email, sent some pix for envy to friends back home. Back to Wahoo for breakfast prep. Filled tanks with water, maybe for last time ‘til Hodges. Big breakfast of eggs, sausage, and bagels.
Crew did internet research and decided to head to Mahoe cove for snorkeling. Ended up at mango resort, then finally down a dirt road to Savannah Bay. Great snorkeling. We took car back to Leverick, resupplied, shopped. Had mimosas to celebrate the great snorkeling.
Met Nick and got a sample size of Pu$$y (Richard Branson energy drink). Nick said that right now the only place you can get Pu$$y in the BVI is Leverick. I have no proof that he is wrong.

Motored to Saba, got mooring on first try, and watching others, that may be more uncommon than common. Grilled burgers, snorkeled, joy showers (great TTOL tip). Happy hour at BEYC with 2 man live band. Played “My Girl” (Father/daughter dance sound from her wedding…Capt and daughter danced…again) followed by “One Love,” newlyweds wedding song…both back to back! Karma…
Some shopping and confirmed no live entertainment for evening, then to Saba.
Toucans, shopping, drinks, watching sunset over prickly pear. Back to wahoo for steak fajitas and balderdash. 12:30 rain drove hatches closed and gen/AC on.

Thursday, June 6 - Day 6
Up at 6 planning route for JVD.
Crew slow rising so Admiral and I dinghyed over to Saba for ice. No luck at 730. No hours signs posted, two boats waiting at water dock. Ilon time. Back to Wahoo.
Pancakes and sausage for breakfast. Boat came by with ice and trash pickup. Good timing.
Left the ball at 9:30…so much for early start. Turns out it was rush hour. About a dozen yachts departing North Sound at the same time. We raised the main within the Sound and motor sailed out. Trimmed the sail on a Starboard broad reach … I wasn't ready to go wing on wing. But a beautiful day. First really clear day. We could see all the islands.
Motored between Sandy Cay and Sandy Spit and dropped anchor on NW side if Sandy Spit at 3:00.
Dingyed the crew to the beach and left them to explore. Returned to Wahoo to join the Admiral. Called for reservations at Great Harbor. Need to know the order for Ali Baba's and left message at Corsairs. Crew swam back to Wahoo after an hour, we called in order to Ali Baba's, raised the anchor and motored to Great Harbor. Cruise guide implied moorings were few and the bay was crowded as we entered, started scanning for good anchor spots. Mooring options were spotted and we grabbed one near the commercial channel. Still probably six left at 5:00.
Vinnie from Corsairs called and said no dinner available tonight, cook's back hurts, but he would have the bar open.
Painkillers, joy showers, and off to shore by 6:00. Shopping, drinks at Foxy's with pictures under Buckeye license plates, over to Corsair's for a drink with Vinnie. He made us a drink with Corsairs blue rum called a Voodoo. Pretty good.
At Ali Baba's we were greeted by Bobby, Ali's brother and directed to our table. The place was ours. Actually, very few folks on shore at all. Asked Bobby and he said things were very busy Jan thru April, and then drops off. Though moorings were full, little business.
Great meal -sautéed Mahi, West Indian conch, and lime garlic shrimp were the meals of choice. No complaints. Key Lime Pie deemed the best by the crew.
Back to Wahoo for a nightcap and star gazing. Another day in paradise.
