Trip to AXA and SXM end of June.
Flights: US Air BWI-CLT-SXM. Very smooth going down. On return, flight left SXM half hour late and it took forever to get luggage in CLT, so missed connection. Fortunately, were able to get on later flight back to BWI
Ferry: Used GB Express. What a wonderful new setup across from the airport. GB was waiting for our flight and shuttled us across the street. Crossing to Anguilla was smooth in blustery conditions. Customs was a breeze leaving and returning. Nice bar at the terminal too.
Anguilla: Stayed at Serenity Cottages on Shoal Bay East, but around the corner from the main part. What a lovely setting and accommodations. Highly recommend them. Used Andy's Car Rental, and as usual he was efficient and the car was clean.
St. Maarten: Were scheduled to go to Towers and then to the Atrium, but because of the a/c issues at the Towers, they put us at the Atrium, so we stayed there for our entire stay. The Atrium has upgraded rooms and a/c units, so it much more inviting. However, the street noise from below is still an issue for us. Enjoyed Buccaneer Beach Bar, Karacters, and IZI. We've been going to SXM since 1994, and it's been a rough year for us, so sand gravity was a priority. As usual, Automax Car Rental was a pleasure. Bastien was waiting for us upon returning from Anguilla.
Overall, one of our most pleasant trips.
