Third week of May at Alamanda. Weather was great, even though the weather report was for a 50% chance of rain. There is road construction in Marigot which has made a bad drive worse. One section was completely closed, detour signs were nonexistent. We ended using the road down by the marina, and going through the lowlands to get to Phillipsburg.
There is a new restaurant in Orient Village called Le Piment. Very good dinner-ate there twice. Many of the nights were very slow in the Village, many restaurant’s open but nearly empty. The best dinner of the week was La Auberge, it was just wonderful.
Went to Cupacoy and it is rather confusing. Parked in dirt lot beside a hotel. Walked toward beach in this open hot field. First beach looks small and deserted, dirt path down, but it would be very difficult to get back up. Second beach about 20 yards away. There are cement steps and a homemade rail to get up and down. This beach is about 25 yards long. Old chairs on the beach for rent. There was a pick up truck selling drinks and BBQ at top of steps. Beach was about 30 yards long. We stayed here because it was hot and we did not want to continue walking. There appeared to be another beach further down, several vehicles had gone across the field and parked down there, it was about 50 yards further down.
Most of the time at Club O not real busy but a relaxing time.
Departing SXM is very easy, no lines, no problems. Getting through Miami is a nightmare, even if you have Global Entry.
Great trip
