We have an opportunity to travel to Punta Cana in the spring and stay at a new resort on Playa Blanca. The beach looks lovely in photos. We don’t want to rent a car, or deal with leaving the resort for meals.

It will be quite a departure from our typical St Martin trip where we've vacationed 19 times. We have also been to many other islands in the Caribbean some more than once but it's been about 5 years since we've travel to any place other than St Martin. Our deal is too good to pass up provided airfare can be had on JetBlue for a reasonable amount.

Any comments about Punta Cana, likes or dislikes?

PC is just fine for the typical all inclusive resort.
Sit, sleep, relax, drink, repeat often. That's about it.

I spent my money on booze, broads, and boats...the rest I wasted.

Punta Cana is a place to "crash"! Very different from SXM vacations. Doing an A/I every so often gives you a real relaxed vacation. The beaches are beautiful in Punta Cana. Enjoy! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/toast.gif" alt="" />

Thank you, we've done two AIs before and weren't very happy with either. Accommodations and food medicore at best in Antigua and in Playa del Carmen.

The new resort as I understand will not be an all-inclusive but should have enough restaurants/bars onsite to keep us happy for 5 full days which is about all the R&R I think we can take or need.
