Well that was quick! xrayman67 nailed it!

We were lucky to make the transit aboard my son's ship at the time up the Savannah River. Even better watch him get promoted with the city in the background. Savannah is a great place to visit.

You broke your own rule TomB by leaving the Georgia Flag in plain view

Haha... I was so buy erasing the name off the back of the tug that I did not notice the the flags on the stern

Flags also disappeared on a bunch of buildings.

Sometimes look past what is in the front of your face.

I think xrayman67 has probably got it. I've got photos of a tug that looks just like the one in the photo (except with more rust) and also photos of the gold dome.

I see I'm too late! Spent too long looking at my photos.

Tom, you can go again if you would like. Seems like I owe you one for the Ehrenburg Castle. I actually didn't notice the flag, but the Brunswick guess by sleepychef got me to thinking Georgia!

I don't know it, but I like it. I like all the shapes and angles. Almost seems like the Who (as in Dr Suess) village of sorts.

xrayman - nope not Portugal

I figured sleepychef had been here thanks for letting it slide today... ironically it is Tuesday

EllenS - good observation, but I wanted to keep with the Coast Guard theme from my last post.

Yes, Ellen you are correct!

Sweethaven Village or Popeye’s Village in Malta was the location for the Popeye movie with Robin Williams.
The set was left standing and it became a tourist attraction.
It has become so popular that a few years ago the original set burned down and they rebuilt it.

Yes, Popeye was in the USCG

I think so. Nothing about maps in the rules just google.

I thought this one would be easier. Anyone who gets close wins

Well, as far as maps, I guess they are OK to consult if it's a paper map and not online!!! That would be my take on it. No online maps, as that seems like google to me.

Ok give it to Tom. We were on top of Tegelberg via cable car watching the kites jump off. Very close to the castles. Village of Schwangau. I think I spelled it correctly.

Tom you are up.

sleepychef has brought us to the right region, but not the right place...

I have to ask... it must have been hard to tack in the Corinth Canal

No I know where it is , I was giving a clue. Lol engine all the way after the light went green and the bridge dissapeared uder the water .

We were in a lil 36ft sailboat called Megabucks brought out of Split due to the war and it lost its crew a few days before coming into Bari due to a force 9 storm. I was hitch hiking heading to Corfu but should of been in Brendisi , standing in the queue to buy a ferry ticket and a Captain just strolls up to me and asked me iwhere I was going, then informed me I was in the wrong port and then asked me if I had sailed before, i responded in the positive( didn't mention it was the ferry going to Arran) and away I went with my 2 travel companions on our firt sailing adventure!

For all you mythology fans this location is named for the son of Poseidon and the father of Palamedes

(BTW... I am not a mythology fan and I had to look the clue up)

Not Hint - But just for info...

The little islet in the center of the harbor had multiple purposes.
On the far side of it one barely make out a sandbar.
Invading ships must come through the near side
A heavy chain stretched between the islet and the wharf
Hence ripping off the bottom of unwanted ships

The Islet also served as the home of the city's executioner, and is where he preformed his duties.

In the lower right corner (not shown well) is how we entered the harbor. Beautiful Motor/Sail
