Okay I’ve been and stayed at a number of locations on the island and want to find a place for our August 2021 vacation. We are looking for something that has younger guests and not a lot of children. Would also like to hear about impressions of Adam and Eve or Club Fantastico or another Nude/Clothing Optional accommodation.

Doesn’t have to be clothing optional but would definitely prefer younger guests (Late 30’s type crowd). We’ve stayed most recently at Simpson Bay Marina and want to change it up. Simpson Bay/Maho/Cupecoy/Orient/Grand Case.

I look forward to hearing some options for next year. Really wish we could have visited this year.

Thanks for the reviews. I think I may have read that previously but it was a good refresher. Do you think Jardin D’O would be a good choice? I want to keep the cost down and generally we go to beaches during the day and unwind in the pool in the afternoon/ early evening. We would probably be traveling in July or August because of our work schedules. Post Irma we have stayed pretty much exclusively at Simpson Bay Marina due to safety concerns and trying to keep our costs down. But it doesn’t have the same feel that we are looking for since it has a lot of children and many amenities we just don’t use. Pre Irma we rented a villa just above Orient Village and loved the easy access to the beach.

Am sure you would like Jardin if you don't mind a little car ride to and from the beach. You definitely feel that you are staying in France in that area and good pharmacy and grocery nearby. Nice little restaurant just down the hill, walking distance. Should be great in July/August!
What do you expect the difference in cost between Jardin and renting a small villa off season will be? I would think comparable although maybe more for a villa with private pool. If you like the possibility of socializing with other naturists, go Jardin. No kids there for sure! Wonderful hosts too!

The difference in price is probably going to be minimal compared to renting a private villa with a pool. Depending on location as well. Since we just went to Couples Sans Souci having people to talk to was something we rarely do in SXM but did enjoy. Which location between AE and Jardin had a younger crowd? Obviously it’s hard to tell based on time of year, but which do you believe would be more suitable for a younger crowd.

I’m starting to lean towards AE.

No difference as far as younger crowd in each place, IMHO, although AE is closer to the action in the Village. There were very few guests in either place in early December, for some reason. We did meet a nice couple from Miami at AE but we 4 were the only guests. We didn't run into other guests at Jardin although 2 couples arrived the day before we left and stayed in the farthest unit from us. They had their own hot tub and sort of hung in that area, no surprise. Our suite was kind of remote from the others. On the one night we all were there we never overlapped at the pool either but I could see that area would be nice for socializing if more folks were there.

AE is definitely closer to Orient Beach and could even be walkable as noted by a commenter to my blog post. It would be a hot walk though and if you drive each day, there's a difference of just a few minutes between the 2 places, i.e. once you are in the car, who cares? While staying in AE we almost felt a part of the action in the Village but still a bit apart for peace and quiet.

Yeah we don’t mind walking especially since we usually have a speaker and listen to music wherever we go. I just miss those outdoor showers at Orient. So AE sounds like it may be better especially if it’s close to the Village for dinner as well.

Couples Sans Souci was nice but I really missed going to different beaches, bars, restaurants and feeling like I wasn’t trapped even though safety was a top factor in this years vacation and Couples provided that.

Is a nice walk from AE to the Village and back in the cooler evening!

We've stayed at A&E and found it to be really nice. Just for the record we'll be 80 in a few days. There was a wide range of ages and nationalities there in March and everyone got along. It is not not not a hot spot for nightlife. A day on the Owner's catamaran The Good Life was a treat. Any questions? I'll be glad to help. Everything was incredibly neat and clean, breakfast was enjoyable - served to order and the staff works very diligently to please. Parking is tight but everyone cooperates to make it not a problem. We'll be back in March if Madam Covid cooperates.
