Wife and I just returned from a few days at this beautiful resort. I wanted to mention for those that haven't been in awhile that they've completely remodeled the Chaparral rooms that are immediately adjacent to the activity pool. They used to have a very short hallway to the back of the room with a small bathroom on one side and a closet on the other. They've removed the hallway completely and opened up the bathroom to twice it's old size. (who needs a full double closet at a nudist resort?)

They've also installed very efficient and quiet A/C split systems, which are SO much nicer than the older and much noisier wall mounted units. There are some new rules regarding the cafe being open and having your own drinks poolside that aren't our favorite, but understandable when trying to keep the cafe viable during slower times.

Always a treat to visit Desert Sun, and great to see them continuing to invest in the property.

Thanks for the report. As you say, every small business has to adapt in order to survive these days..

Thanks for the report. I heard last year that the resort was up for sale. Is this new ownership that has upgraded the Chaparral Rooms?

Pan- the Youngs decided not to sell and pulled it off the market. My understanding is that many of the upgrades were performed after they reconsidered, and even Mr. Young was in each room swinging a hammer alongside others to complete the work. They're very well done and changes the rooms dramatically for the better.
